Baccarat
- The Game
Baccarat
is a simple card game, steeped in history, first invented in the 1500's by
French aristocrats. In Baccarat you are betting on one of three events
occurring: -
i. the
banker's hand winning
ii. the player's hand winning
iii. neither hand winning - a tie
What makes Baccarat exciting is that the stakes are usually high and a lot
can be won or lost very quickly.
Banker's Hand
Betting on the banker's
hand to win. The house has a 1.17% advantage - for every $100 bet
$98.83 is paid.
Payout - Even money less
5% commission.
Player's Hand
Betting on the player hand
to win. The house has a 1.36 advantage - for every $100 bet $98.64
is paid.
Payout - Even money.
Tied Hand
Betting that neither hand
will win. The odds of a draw in Baccarat are 10 to 1. Naturally the
odds are stacked in favor of the casino. This is the worst bet you can
make.
Payout - 8 to 1 or 9 to 1.
